Any conversation about dominating things like the kitchen (practically + as a metaphor for ruling our lives) reminds of Byron Katie’s process she calls “DOING the DISHES.” Basic idea:
She says “We never receive more than we can handle, & there is ALWAYS JUST ONE THING TO DO.”
Dishes need doing? Do them. Phone call to make? Make it.
There is only every one thing. We just need to breathe, step back, IDENTIFY what the next Most Important Thing is THEN DO IT.
With a smile. The best that we can.
QUESTION: How are your dishes? Let’s dominate them. Then have fun “doing the proverbial dishes” all day every day.
