Gear and Tools

**Zafu Cushion
**Zabuton Pillow

When I first tried to sit cross-legged, my hips were pretty tight, and my lower back quickly got tired. The solution: a zafu (ZAH-foo) cushion and zabuton (ZAH-byoo-than), which allows you to sit on the floor comfortably. The zabuton is a larger, softer, rectangle shaped cushion that goes on the floor to cushion your knees and ankles, and the zafu is a smaller, firmer, round cushion that goes on top of the zabuton.
